Professional
I consider my career to be one of exceptional luck. While completing studies at TCU and Columbia Business School, I became an early employee at category-defining technology businesses in Switzerland, Silicon Valley, and New York. I gained experience from the inside as these companies raised money, launched and sunsetted products, grew rapidly, and faced huge organizational challenges along the way. These experiences gave me a unique perspective that enabled me to excel in Product, Operations, and Marketing roles. More importantly, the leadership teams of these business viewed me as a trusted player on the most critical business/ethical challenges and positive voice through times of change.
Above everything else, I am a designer at heart.
Whether dealing with digital products, business processes, organizational change, I am drawn towards the questions: How do we empathize with the people at stake and define right problems they face? How do they interface with those problems, and how can we design a better world around them? I strongly believe that having a bias for action and better design leads to a world that is better for us all - especially with the massive challenges we collectively face.
Skills and Wins
Within these companies, I have taken on various roles. Typically, I join early-stage ventures and assume an operations leadership position, coordinating key projects across multiple departments to drive growth and support fundraising efforts. I bring the mindset of an investor to these roles, helping leadership teams implement systems that I've learned are crucial to early/growth stage investors and developing compelling materials for pitching these competencies to investors.
As companies progress, I transition into positions managing key products and cross-functional projects.
In these roles, I have been known for:
- Effective cross-functional communication: Fluent in the languages of different departments, I drive alignment and collaboration across sales, finance, marketing, product, and people teams.
- Trusted leadership and ethics: Entrusted with leading sensitive initiatives both internally and with critical clients, including international intelligence agencies.
- Growth-oriented mindset: Embracing evolving roles and navigating rapid company growth, I maintain a positive outlook and eagerly take on new responsibilities.
- Technical proficiency: Combining a strategic mindset with technical know-how, I confidently navigate programming languages, financial plans, and tool integration to drive results.
Chainalysis
I'm most proud of my role at Chainalysis: the software company widely recognized in assisting the U.S. Government in its takedown of several of the largest darknet markets. I joined Chainalysis as an early employee (pre Series-A), helped position the company for three successful fundraising rounds, and transitioned out after it had grown to over 200 employees and a $1bn valuation less than four years later. My leadership through the company's turbulent growth was recognized widely, and I was later asked to advise on its relationships with its largest public sector partners. Chainalysis continues to change the world for the better.
Note: Chainalysis was recently featured in Time's Most Influential Companies of 2023.
